Herding Breeds

Helping Hounds will be offering mini courses aimed at owners of herding or guardian breeds, or dogs crossed with herding and guardian breeds.  These courses will offer you a greater understanding of a herding breed’s mind and how they think.

You’ll learn how to promote calmness, how to help them cope with every day life outside of the farm life that they were bred for, how to encourage your herding breed dog to exercise self control and how to help your dog ignore distractions such as fast moving vehicles or running children.

These courses are suitable for the owners of all herding or guardian dog breeds, or dogs that are crossed with herding or guardian breeds, including but not limited to

• Border Collie
• Welsh Sheepdog
• Corgi
• Rough Collie
• Shetland  Sheepdog
• German Shepherd
• Miniature American Shepherd
